Gastronomic pintxos in San Sebastian!


GREENWICH MERIDIAN ON THE WAY

San Sebastian is about 6 hours drive from Barcelona.
San Sebastian with its excellent beaches, a beautiful old town and some of the best "pinchos" in Spain, is a wonderful get away for a long weekend. The fun of San Sebastian is to walk in the small lanes of the old town and enter from one bar to another. Pintxos are usually spiked with a toothpick to a piece of bread. You can have some pintxos and a "zurito" ( small draft beer served in a shot glass).
Pintxos are cold but you also have hot ones- they will heat them for you. You just ask for your drink and pick up the pintxos you see on display. When you are finish, you be honest and tell the barman what you have eaten, he will make the bill. Tradition is to just have 1 or 2 pintxos in a bar and move on.

 And then you have nouvelle cuisine Pintxos in Zeruko and in A Fuego Negro. ZERUKO won the 3rd price of the best pintxos in town. You will see an unusual display of beautiful and art designed pintxos. They were very tasty too.
