The best fries in BelleBarcelone! |
Sun is shining! A walk on the beach during these spring days
is so agreeable.
And why not stop for a great burger and the best fries in
town in Makamaka?
Makamaka is a beach burger café on Av Joan Borbon, 76 just off
the beach.
Message from the Makamaka owners: "The Makamaka concept comes from the idea of two best friends (client + designer) with the same passion for high standards on all levels. We got inspiration from places like Umami, a chain of gourmet burger restaurants in Los Angeles. But Makamaka has become a synonym for a certain way of life. Informal, authentic, natural, fresh and fun. That is what Makamaka is."

Their burgers are great, they have a veggie one too: Mr nice
guy. All their burgers have fun names just as Jamaican holidays or Maradona (which is the special one on the list with argentinian and italian influences).
All their ingredients are local and fresh. They try to make their monthly products with season based ingredients, for example their burger made with calçots.
This shack opened last summer and it's been busy since then, from 12 to 2am ( till 2.30 on weekends) everyday.

Their fries are freshly cut, fried and served with wasabi mayonnaise. They also have a fries fan club, they really are the best in town!
They serve a variety of wonderful cocktails and mocktails.
Their signature cocktail is the Makamaka, of course- vodka, passion fruit and chilly syrup- It makes you smile again and again. There is also one called the Mexican Breakfast- tequila, espresso, cinnamon syrup, coffee liqueur- that will be your instant wake up call.
Some of their mocktails: Coco Loco- strawberries, Greek yoghurt, coconut syrup and fresh pineapple- or the Shark Bark-mango, ginger, lime and fresh apple juice.

They have good salads
too like the Moroccan salad made of couscous or the Italian fig one.
Their menu may not be extensive but whatever is on there is
excellent.
The interior is casual, the outside is inviting and the
staff is friendly.

“When I walk down the beach and smell
the salt water, hear the waves crashing against the shoreline, and feel the granular
sand under my feet, I can't help but realize why I'm here on this green earth”
